Can my eligibility for benefits be appealed?

Appealing a Service Center Determination

When the department has made an Unemployment Compensation (UC) eligibility determination, both parties (claimant and employer) will be sent a copy of the determination.
Claimants and employers can appeal a determination of eligibility by requesting a hearing before a UC appeals referee within 15 calendar days of the mailing date of the original determination.

Appealing a Referee's Decision or UC Board of Review Decision

A referee's decision may be appealed to the UC Board of Review within 15 calendar days of the mailing date of that decision. Any appeal of a UC Board of Review decision must be filed with the Commonwealth Court. Be aware that a request for reconsideration does not extend the time limit for appealing to Commonwealth Court.
For information on filing appeals to the UC Board of Review or Commonwealth Court, see Expanded and legal information about appeals.
