Mandatory Electronic Filing
Effective with the first quarter 2014 filing, employers are required to electronically file quarterly UC tax and wage reports through UCMS
If you have not already registered with UCMS
to file electronically, the time to do so is now.
Treasury Offset Program
If you received a letter stating that your UC debt will be recovered through the federal Treasury Offset Program, and you have a question or concern, you MUST submit your questions IN WRITING, by mail or fax, to the address listed on your letter. Please include the required documentation. Do not call the UC service centers for information on this program. The service centers do not administer the TOP program and cannot provide you with any TOP information.
Contacting UC Service Centers
The department asks that UC claimants contact the UC service centers on either Monday or Tuesday depending on the last digit of their Social Security number.
L&I data suggest that UC service center call volume is significantly higher on Mondays than the rest of the week. By moving some calls to the assigned days, we can offer faster, more efficient service to all claimants.
If your SSN ends in an odd number — 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 — please call for assistance on Monday. If your SSN ends in an even number — 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 — please call on Tuesday.
This initiative reduces busy signals, call wait times and allows claimants faster access to UC representatives. The UC service centers will continue to accept calls from claimants with any SSN on Wednesday-Friday.
Claimants are encouraged to follow this system, but will still receive service if they contact the UC service centers on a day that is not his or her assigned day.
