How to File an Appeal Online

Under Section 501(e) of the Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Law, an eligibility determination issued by the UC service center becomes final unless an appeal is filed. A timely appeal must be filed within 15 calendar days after the mailing date on the determination. However, if the 15th day is a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, a timely appeal may be filed on the next business day. If an appeal is not filed on time, the UC Referee will determine if the appeal was filed late for good cause.
This site has been established to provide an interactive, easy and direct method to submit a Petition for Appeal, Form UC-46B, in a timely manner.

To file an appeal online you will need:

  • Information from the notice of determination issued by the UC Service center
  • Your own email address. For your appeal information to remain secure, you should not use another person's email address.
  • Please be advised that the department cannot guarantee the security of personally identifiable information submitted electronically.
  • NOTE: Online appeal filing is not compatible with non-Adobe PDF readers/viewers. A free Adobe reader can be downloaded here.
