Shared-Work allows you to retain your workforce during a slowdown while providing significantly more UC benefits to employees, compared to employees who have simply had their hours reduced and filed for partial UC benefits.
A Shared-Work plan allows an employer to temporarily reduce the work hours of a group of employees and divide the available hours equally rather than laying off employees. Employees covered by a Shared-Work plan receive a percentage of their Unemployment Compensation (UC) Weekly Benefit Rate while they work a reduced schedule if they are otherwise eligible for UC.
